This is our second year of producing a wedge camper buyer's guide. All of the basic information like weight, price, lead time, and warranty length are still included, but this year we dove deeper into the details.
As we began compiling information it was clear that the wedge camper market is maturing. A number of companies have multiple models in their lineups, which can be installed on mid-size, full-size, and long bed trucks respectively. With so many options, that matrix gets pretty complicated pretty quickly, so we did our best to break down the information into what really matters for buyers as they research their next camper.
Along with providing more detail on each manufacturer and their camper models, we wanted to take a comprehensive look at all of the new accessories and upgrades available today. From basic features like side windows and rear door styles, to more complex amenities like heaters and power systems, you'll be able to see which companies offer the accessories that you're looking for in your next camper.

It's natural for buyers to have big questions as they research a big purchase. We get a lot from our prospects and thought we'd share the most common here:

Everybody has their must-haves and nice-to-haves. This guide is meant to help you determine the best camper for you and your family.
All of the figures used in this guide are from manufacturer websites as of January 2026. We will update these figures on a regular basis but we highly encourage you to check brand websites as you're getting close to a final purchase decision.
If you've determined your budget and you're looking for exact costs for your camper, we've compiled all manufacturer prices, including state sales tax and installation fees to help you better understand your final bill.
Mid-size Campers by Price

Harker Outdoors, Lone Peak, and Topo Toppers each offer mid and full-size wedge campers for under $8,500. These companies not only offer competitive pricing, they also have favorable Google ratings. See below.
Although these base prices are certainly impressive, if you're counting every dollar, be sure to see which of these companies upcharge for side doors or mattresses. State tax and installation fees are something else that should be considered for budget-conscious buyers.
- For mid size trucks, companies like Oru Designs, Topo Toppers, Lone Peak, and Harker Outdoors were the least expensive options coming in under $8,000. If you're on a tight budget, be sure to see which of these companies up-charge for side doors, or do not include a mattress with the base price.
- The three most expensive options on the market were Hardsider, AT Overland, and Alu-Cab.
- The average price across all mid size camper manufacturers was $10,736.
Depending on where you're going, what you're carrying, or if you're towing something, camper weight is a big consideration for many buyers.
For the weight-conscious and trail riders out there, we've gathered the base weights of each camper so you can plan your payload.
Mid-size Campers by Weight

In most cases, serious trail riding campers drive mid-size trucks for increased range and agility. The callouts below are for mid-size trucks, but we've included full size camper weights here as well.
- Harker Outdoors, Oru Designs, Go Fast Campers, and Topo Toppers were the lightest options weighing at, or under, 300 pounds.
- The heaviest campers weighing over 400 pounds were Alu-Cab, Hardsider, Dirtbox Overland, and Lone Peak.
- The average weight across all wedge campers was 364 pounds.
Wedge campers with heaters and insulation packages allow campers to enjoy their rigs throughout the winter season. These features are especially popular for people who enjoy skiing, snowboarding, fishing, and hunting.
Alu-Cab, Dirtbox, and Super Pacific each provide the most 4-season support with heater upgrades along with insulation package upgrades for maximum cold-weather comfort.
Go Fast Campers, Harker Outdoors, and AT Overland offer heater solutions, but do not have insulation packages.

For the planners out there, we identified where all major manufacturers are located so you can map out a potential road trip.
- Alu-Cab has a nationwide network of dealers.
- A few manufacturers offer direct shipping, but you would need to install the camper yourself.
- Many manufacturers have distribution partners.
- But the most common scenario is to drive your truck to the company HQ for a professional installation. Many owners make a trip out of it and enjoy camping in their new rig on their way home.
Of all the information available to consumers, warranty details along with reviews and ratings from existing customers will give you the best view into what you'll be purchasing.
Warranty Length
While there's no substitute for seeing a camper in person, what owners are saying is probably the next best indication of satisfaction and quality. Positive Google reviews say a lot, but a high volume of positive reviews says even more.
- AT Overland leads the list in warranty length at an impressive 10 years. They are also favorably rated on Google with 4.5 Stars.
- Super Pacific offers a nice range of buyer confidence with a 5 Star Google rating, the highest number of reviews (198), and a 5 year warranty.
- Dirtbox Overland and Pack Out Campers each have 5 Star Google ratings with 2 year warranties.
- And finally, Harker Outdoors, Topo Toppers, and Lone Peak have favorable Google ratings with 2 year warranties.

LEAD TIMES
Production capabilities can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer for a number of reasons but the average lead time across all companies was around 12 weeks.
Dirtbox Overland had the shortest lead times quoted at 3-4 weeks, with Harker Outdoors following shortly behind with a 4-5 week lead time, and finally Topo Toppers offers a 4-6 week lead time.
INVENTORY CAMPERS
Another option for campers in a hurry is to consider inventory units that some companies provide. These are typically commonly produced configurations that are good choices for buyers on a tight timeline.
AT Overland, Go Fast Campers, Oru Designs, Super Pacific, and Topo Toppers each offer inventory units for sale.
Lead times are variable and can fluctuate based on production volume and other factors. Be sure to check with each manufacturer to see how long it will take them to produce a camper when you're ready to buy.

A few things to consider:
- We did our best to identify installation costs for all manufacturers. Some listed them openly, others mentioned that they included them, but did not list the amount. Reach out directly if you have questions.
- Lead times are variable across most manufacturers, so be sure to check their website when you're ready to out a deposit down. The times that we have listed may have shifted, and that's normal, based on production volume.
- Google Reviews and Ratings can change every week.
